COMPANY POLICY OF PKWSA SPORTS PROMOTION SERVICES

“PHILIPPINE KILLERWHALE SWIMMING TEAM”

MISSION – TO SHOWCASE THE TALENT ACROSS THE COUNTRY, EQUIPPED WITH DISCIPLINE, FAITH, RESPECT, HUMILITY, AND WISDOM. TO PRODUCE GOD FEARING CHAMPIONS IN LIFE AND IN THE POOL WHILE DEVELOPING WORLD CLASS TALENT THAT WILL REPRESENT THE PHILIPPINES IN THE HIGHER LEVELS OF SWIMMING COMPETITIONS.

VISION – IN THE NEXT 4 YEARS PHILIPPINE KILLERWHALE WILL BE KNOWN NOT ONLY IN THE PHILIPPINES BUT ALSO AROUND SOUTHEAST ASIA AND THE WORLD. THIS IS THROUGH DEVELOPING CHAMPIONS. PHILIPPINE KILLERWHALE WILL AIM TO COMPETE IN THE WORLD STAGE IN THE NEXT TEN YEARS AND CONQUER THE TOP SPOTS.  WE ALSO AIM TO CREATE A LEAGUE THAT WILL PROFESSIONALIZE PHILIPPINE SWIMMING AND IN TURN PROVIDES INCOME AND OPPORTUNITIES TO THE PHILIPPINE SWIMMERS. 

Annual Awarding Ceremony: PKWSA will hold an annual awarding ceremony during the Annual Christmas party to recognize and celebrate the achievements of our swimmers. Awards will be given to outstanding performers and those who have shown exemplary sportsmanship and dedication throughout the year.

Swimmer Benefits: PKWSA will provide benefits to deserving swimmers as recognition for their hard work and dedication. These benefits may include financial assistance, training support, and access to specialized coaching.

Program Development: PKWSA is committed to creating comprehensive swimming programs that cater to the specific needs of swimmers. We aim to continuously enhance and expand our programs to improve the overall skills and performance of our athletes.

Expansion and Outreach: PKWSA will actively work to expand its presence in other areas of the Philippines to reach out to more aspiring swimmers and offer them the best possible training and development programs.

Swimmer Promotion System:

PKWSA will implement a swimmer promotion system based on the swimmer’s classification and achievements. Swimmers will be ranked as follows:

> Warrior: Novice to Classification BB category
> Lieutenant: Classification A-AA
> General: Classification AAA-AAAA
> Seven Star General: Swimmers who have competed in SEA Games, Asian Games, or Olympics.

Membership Fees: Swimmers who register to be members of the team in the local area will be asked to pay membership fees based on the following (as of 2019-2024):

> Monthly Membership: PHP 4,000.00 (with the possibility of a raise based on individual cases)
> Semi-Annual Membership: PHP 18,000.00 (with the possibility of a raise based on individual cases)
> Annual Membership: PHP 24,000.00 (with the possibility of a raise based on individual cases)

Training Guidelines: To maintain a professional and disciplined environment, swimmers are expected to adhere to the following guidelines during training:

  1. Punctuality: Swimmers must be on time for all training sessions. b. Compliance: Competitive swimmers must follow all guidelines and instructions provided by the coaches during training.
  2. Respect: Swimmers must obey the coach’s instructions and show respect to fellow swimmers and coaches at all times.

3. Professionalism: Swimmers are not permitted to engage in romantic relationships with other team members while they are active members of the team.

4. Evaluation: Competitive swimmers must undergo monthly evaluations through competitions.

5. Team Building: Swimmers are required to participate in team-building activities conducted twice a year to foster camaraderie, discipline, annual program planning and a strong team culture.

6. Exposure: Elite swimmers must participate in international competitions to gain exposure to international swimming standards

Violations and Termination: Any violations of the important training guidelines, as well as any misconduct or breaches of the team’s values, may result in disciplinary action, including termination of membership: a. First Offense: Verbal warning b. Second Offense: Suspension c. Third Offense: Termination of membership

Note: All violations, whether committed by athletes or parents, will be recorded and taken into account when addressing disciplinary actions.

PKWSA Sports Promotion Services aims to create a positive and supportive environment where swimmers can thrive and achieve their highest potential. We expect every member of the team to uphold the principles and guidelines outlined above to maintain a culture of excellence, integrity, and sportsmanship.

Guidelines for Parents

Support & Encouragement

  • Always support and encourage your child’s interest in swimming. Show enthusiasm on their progress and achievements, regardless of the outcome of competitions.
  • Be present at their swimming events whenever possible, and provide emotional support before, during and after races.

    Respect the Coach
  • Respecting Philippine Killerwhale’s officials and coaches is a must. Avoid undermining the coach’s decisions or criticizing them in front of your child.
  • If you have concerns or questions, approach the coach privately and respectfully to discuss issues with them.

    Balanced Approach to Competition
  • Emphasize the importance of doing their best and enjoying the process, rather than solely focusing on winning.
  • Teach them to handle both victories and losses with grace and sportsmanship.

    Avoiding Excessive Pressure
  • Avoid putting excessive pressure on your child to achieve specific results or goals. Let them set their own aspirations and support them in their pursuit.
  • Recognize and appreciate their efforts and improvements, regardless of whether they win medals or titles.

    Nutrition & Hydration
  • Promote a balanced and nutritious diet to support their physical and mental well-being.
  • Encourage proper hydration before, during, and after training and competitions.

    Communication
  • Keep communication lines open with your child about their feelings, experiences, and challenges in swimming.
  • Be approachable and be willing to listen to their concerns without judgment.

    Respect the Team Culture
  • Teach your child to respect and support their fellow swimmers, coaches, and team members.
  • Promote a positive team spirit and discourage gossip or negative behavior within the team.

    Balancing Academics & Swimming
  • Emphasize the importance of balancing academics and swimming commitments.
  • Help your child manage their time effectively to ensure they fulfill their academic responsibilities.

    Model Sportsmanship
  • Be a positive role model for your child by demonstrating good sportsmanship and respect towards others.
  • Avoid engaging in negative behavior or criticizing other swimmers or coaches.

Celebrate Progress & Effort

  • Celebrate your child’s progress and efforts, no matter how small. Encourage a growth mindset and the importance of continuous improvement.

Remember that the journey of a young swimmer should be enjoyable, educational, and enriching. By following these guidelines, you can provide the support and environment that helps your child develop a lifelong love for swimming, sportsmanship, and personal growth.

Termination of membership

Guidelines for Termination of Membership

Termination of membership in PKWSA Sports Promotion Services – Philippine Killerwhale Swimming Team shall be enforced in accordance with the following conditions:

Parental Misconduct:

a. Termination may occur if parents fail to follow the rules and regulations of the team, which includes maintaining respectful behavior towards other parents, swimmers, and coaches.

b. Spreading false rumors about other parents or swimmers that create a disruptive or harmful atmosphere within the team may lead to termination.

Parental Commitment to Training:

Parents are expected to ensure their children adhere to the training schedule, including punctuality. Repeated instances of absence without valid reasons especially in times of rigid training may result in termination or cancellation of membership as a competitive swimmer.

Inappropriate Relationships Among Swimmers:

a. Swimmers engaging in romantic relationships with fellow swimmers, may face termination.

b. In cases where such relationships are discovered, parents are responsible for preventing their children from attending training sessions. Failure to do so means the parent gives coaches the authority to pullout the swimmer/s from training.

Financial Obligations:

Failure to pay membership and training fees and fulfill financial obligations within a reasonable timeframe may lead to termination of membership.

  1. If the member fails to pay the membership and training fees according to each member’s terms, the monthly mode of payment shall apply and revoke the terms that they initially signed for. To revert to the terms desired, a member must fill out another membership contract.

Disrespectful Behavior:

Swimmers showing repeated disrespect towards their coaches during training sessions may face termination.

Lack of Cooperation:

Parents who consistently fail to cooperate with the coach’s training programs and competition requirements may be subject to termination.

  1. In unavoidable cases whereas swimmers are unable to attend the program and competitions, please approach the coach or management to discuss.

Unauthorized Programs and Decisions:

Extended coaches and team managers must not create independent programs related to team-building, annual planning, competitions, or uniform design without approval from the Philippine Killerwhale’s management. Violation of this guideline may result in termination.

The Head Coach is the one who drafts, creates, and implement Philippine Killerwhale’s program. Attending or using another program is strictly prohibited and may result to the termination of the membership.

Cross Training is strictly prohibited and will result to membership termination

Reporting and Communication:

a. Team managers must promptly report any issues related to coach’s attitude, misconduct, or the status of team members to the appropriate authorities for necessary action.

Termination Process

  1. Prior Notice: In most cases, a prior notice of the violations or issues will be given to the parents and swimmers, allowing them an opportunity to rectify the situation.
  2. Disciplinary Action: The severity of the violation will be assessed, and appropriate disciplinary action may be taken, depending on the circumstances, if in any case the violation is coming from the multiple misbehavior of parents or swimmers the disciplinary action is void instead this might be subject for direct or letter of termination memo.
  3. Appeals: Parents and swimmers can make an appeal letter regarding memos or direct(vocal) termination from the owner of the team. This appeal is subject for investigation depends on the measures of violations, a weighing between swimmers and parents’ personality and the interest of team as a whole.
  4. Final Decision: The final decision on termination will be made by the owner of the team(chairman), considering all relevant factors and the best interests of the team as a whole.
  5. For voluntary termination of membership, please advice the Head Coach. Termination of membership will take effect upon receiving a confirmation from the Head Coach.

It is essential for all team members, including parents, coaches, and swimmers, to maintain a positive and respectful environment, adhering to the guidelines set forth to ensure the growth and success of PKWSA Sports Promotion Services – Philippine Killerwhale Swimming Team.
